Fletcher Street Cottage Weekly Highlights: 12th – 15th November 2024
Each week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we’re focused on creating a supportive environment for those in need, providing vital services, and fostering meaningful connections. Here’s a look at the highlights from this week.
Highlights:
- We celebrated the birthday of Gale, one of our incredible Art Space volunteers. Gale’s dedication and creativity bring so much to our community, and we were happy to celebrate her special day (see photo)
- Valerie, the wonderful woman behind Doyles Lodge, an accommodation provider in Lismore, joined us for breakfast. Valerie provides accommodation for over 55s in Lismore, and we are grateful for her continued support.
- The Mary of Angelus Community has been instrumental in housing countless rough sleepers in the Lismore, Mullumbimby and Brisbane communities. Their commitment to helping others is truly inspiring. You can learn more about their work here.
- Mary, Stacey and Nikki, our amazing Wednesday Wombats volunteers, reached an impressive milestone, contributing over 770 hours of volunteer work. We are incredibly thankful for their time, energy, and compassion.
- We welcomed 232 clients through our doors and served 203 tasty breakfasts. Additionally, we had 11 visiting services and provided support to 43 women.
- A Free Community Yoga Day will take place on Sunday 17th November, in support of Fletcher Street Cottage at Byron Yoga Studio. We’re grateful to everyone involved in making this event happen.
This week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we experienced both highs and lows. As the week draws to a close, I reflect on how grateful I am to be supported by such a wonderful team. Their unwavering dedication to our mission is a constant source of strength.
