The Beating Heart of Byron
From the Byron Markets to Byron Theatre and our essential community services, we are the beating heart of Byron Bay.
For over 40 years, the Byron Community Centre has played a key role in establishing and hosting a range of projects, services and events for locals and visitors alike in Byron Bay.
The Centre is a not for profit organisation, entirely self-funded through donations, income and project grants. These funds are used to support vulnerable people with services such as meals, advocacy and counselling; as well as a range of arts and social programs for the benefit of the whole community.

Who we are
Welcome to the Byron Community Centre, the heart and centre of the Byron Bay community. We aim to provide the community with projects which support our local community.
We are completely not-for-profit and our services are made possible by gaining funding by applying for government grants as well as through our social enterprises: Byron Markets, Venue Hire and the Byron Theatre. These enterprises are run by a team of dedicated staff who receive support from a team of committed volunteers.
We work together to provide Byron Bay with a platform that encourages both social and cultural inclusion and we do this by inspiring a sense of community.
What we do
We provide support for our local community by hosting a range of community programs and services. These aim to better the lives of the people in need within the Byron Bay community. Help us help the Byron Shire community by supporting vulnerable community members. Your donation will help us provide food, shelter and showers to locals in need.
Fletcher Street Cottage
We are reopening the Fletcher Street Cottage in the centre of town to provide services for our community’s most vulnerable. Would you like to donate, lend a hand or keep updated? Find out more at: www.fletcherstreetcottage.com.au
