This week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we've been focusing on both supporting our team and our clients. From staff wellness to community donations and fun activities, here's a look at what we've been up to.
Highlights:
- On Thursday, our Fletcher Street Cottage staff were supported with a Wellness Session led by Dr Jane Barker, who spoke about the importance of compassion and self-compassion - essential tools when working in the frontline and crisis space. A huge thank you to Dr Barker for supporting us all.
- The Thursday volunteer team, alongside our Breakfast Coordinator Steve Strang, cooked up a delicious meal of poached eggs, corn fritters and greens, ensuring our clients started the day well-nourished.
- A big thank you to the Bangalow Hotel Social Club, who raised $1,000 for Fletcher Street Cottage. They run raffles every Wednesday and Friday from 5.30pm, with the money raised each month going towards supporting a person or organisation in need. We are so grateful for their support.
- On Friday, we hosted our weekly Trivia Morning at Fletcher Street Cottage. Friday Trivia has proven to be an excellent way for our clients to connect, make new friends and build rapport with staff. This Friday, we had record numbers attend and plenty of laughter shared.
- Thanks to our Women’s Emergency Relief Fund, we were able to support a woman into safe accommodation. We are so proud of the impact this fund continues to have on those in need.
- This week, we supported 245 people and served over 200 hot breakfasts. We are grateful to everyone who contributes to making these services possible.
