From first ideas to centre stage
Alongside hosting outstanding local, national and international performances, Byron Theatre is home to Byron Theatre Company, its resident company founded in 2025 to create and champion original theatre in the Northern Rivers. Through three connected programs – Theatre Makers, Storytellers and Main Stage Productions – the company supports local artists from developing their craft and exploring first ideas through to creative residencies and professional production, while offering audiences bold, locally made theatre shaped by place, community and contemporary Australian stories.
