Sunshine, Haircuts and Creative Expression

This week at Fletcher Street Cottage, we breathed a sigh of relief as the sun shone down on us and last week's Cyclone Alfred wild weather had passed. Here’s a look at what’s been happening at Fletcher Street Cottage this week.

Highlights:

• After last week's challenging weather, we were grateful for the return of sunshine this week, bringing much-needed relief to everyone at Fletcher Street Cottage.
• We were pleased to have Epic Assist Employment Agency back on Wednesday, providing vital support to help our clients secure employment opportunities. Additionally, the Homeless Health Outreach Team from NSW Health was with us on Wednesday and Thursday, offering medical care and support to those in need. We are also extremely thankful to have the GP from First Light Health Care back on Thursday, continuing to provide essential health services to our clients. These services are invaluable in offering wraparound care for our community.
• On Thursday 13th March, we kicked off our Art Space, facilitated by Jennifer Abed, our Community Support Worker. It’s wonderful to have this creative and therapeutic space back up and running in full swing. Art Space happens every Thursday from 9:30 am – 11:30 am and offers a relaxing, safe space for clients to express themselves.
• Tegan, our resident hairdresser, visited us on Thursday. We are so grateful for the time and expertise she volunteers each month, offering our clients much-needed haircuts and grooming services.
