Volunteer with Us

Byron’s lively Community Centre offers a range of projects, services and events to encourage betterment in the lives of the Byron community. Being a not-for-profit organisation, Byron Community Centre relies on the extraordinary strength of our wonderful volunteers to ensure our success and continuation. Without the contribution of our remarkable volunteer team, none of these projects and services would be made possible.

Our team of approximately 300 volunteers work together to contribute towards the exciting projects that function throughout the Byron Shire. Our volunteers have held crucial roles in the development of major events such as the Byron Bay Film Festival, as well as captivating roles within Byron Community Centre’s Venue, Office and Community Programs teams. Byron Community Centre offers rewarding opportunities in ushering, Box Office, event management, publicity, reception and our community projects.

Byron Community Centre volunteers have dedicated their time and compassion toward guiding and promoting our community-based projects. Since the early 2000s, volunteers have helped to run the breakfast and showers program, now offered at Fletcher Street Cottage. This has helped the lives of many vulnerable community members and is another meaningful accomplishment from our volunteer team.

Byron Community Centre’s volunteers not only create valuable relationships, have memorable experiences and build upon their skills, but their work contributes to making a difference in the lives of those in need within the community.
