PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS NOT AT BYRON THEATRE - IT IS AT THE DRILL HALL THEATRE IN MULLUMBIMBY.

This event is a panel conversation taking place at the Drill Hall Theatre in Mullumbimby and all proceeds will go towards Fletcher Street Cottage, who provide essential support to locals in need.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy has been in the headlines in Australia since the Therapeutic Goods Administration made the controversial decision in February 2023 to reschedule psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression and MDMA for PTSD. However, 18 months later, availability and cost have limited access, while research still remains very much in its infancy.

Unsurprisingly, many Australians remain confused about what is happening and why. The purpose of this panel discussion is to clarify some of the issues, and address some of the key questions on people’s minds.

The panel brings together a consumer, a psychiatrist and two clinical psychologists/researchers:

  • Rebecca Huntley is a prominent social researcher, who has just published the autobiographical “Sassafras: A Memoir of Love, Loss and MDMA Therapy”, the story of her experience with MDMA-assisted therapy in an underground context.
  • Justine Hoey-Thompson is a North Coast-based psychiatrist, who has undertaken psychedelic training in Australia, Europe and USA, and is soon hoping to be an “Approved Prescriber” offering MDMA-assisted therapy.
  • Stephen Bright is Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, a clinically-trained psychologist, harm reduction specialist, and long-time advocate for psychedelic-assisted therapy, who is involved in some of Australia’s first psychedelic clinical trials.
  • James Bennett-Levy is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Mental Health and Psychological Wellbeing at Southern Cross University, also involved in some of Australia’s first psychedelic clinical trials, including the North Coast HEART (HEAling climate-Related Trauma) trial.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
