GANAVYA is a vocalist, composer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work seamlessly bridges ancient traditions and contemporary forms. Raised in Tamil Nadu and now based in New York, her artistry draws from a life immersed in devotional music, spiritual exploration, and global collaboration.
Known for her deeply emotive voice and her innovative use of instruments like the harp, GANAVYA’s creations are rooted in a profound sense of connection. With collaborations including luminaries such as Esperanza Spalding, Vijay Iyer, and Shabaka Hutchings, she combines the improvisatory spirit of jazz with the devotional ethos of Harikatha and beyond.
A Harvard graduate who once danced and sang on the pilgrimage trail, she approaches her craft as a form of building community, transforming personal and collective experiences into moments of grace and beauty. This evening will be something to remember!
"Her voice had a delicate emotive heft that could turn stoics into sobbing wrecks” The Guardian
