The festive season can be challenging for families facing financial hardship. Through the Adopt a Family Appeal, the Byron Community Centre works closely with local partners to identify families in need and ensure they receive the support they deserve. This initiative embodies the true spirit of community, bringing together people from all walks of life to make the season brighter for others.

Through our community services hub Fletcher Street Cottage and food rescue service Liberation Larder, families are confidentially matched with donors who wish to support them. Each family is not publicly identified, maintaining their privacy while allowing donors to create personalised hampers valued at around $100. This year, we’re focusing on quality non-perishable foods, meaningful gifts and vouchers that will bring festive cheer to each family.
