From the Byron Theatre Whats On website page, click into the event page that you’d like to purchase tickets for. On the right hand side of the page towards the top, there is a large green button with the word TICKETS written on it. Click this and you will be redirected to the ticket platform to purchase tickets. E-Tickets are now available to purchase up to the start time for each event (pending availability). The Box Office operating hours are Monday/Wednesday/ Friday, 10.30am – 1.30pm and one hour before all events. You are welcome to come to the Centre during these times to purchase tickets.
Call (02) 6685 6807 during Box Office operating hours and our friendly staff and volunteers will assist with your ticket purchase. If you call outside the operating hours, you can leave a message and you will be contacted.
The Byron Theatre box office is located on the ground floor, Byron Bay Community Centre, 69 Jonson Street, Byron Bay. It is open Monday/Wednesday/ Friday, 10.30am – 1.30pm and one hour before all events. All ticket prices are set by the presenting body and include a $4.50 booking fee per ticket. Byron Theatre cannot alter any ticket pricing for any advertised events unless authorised by the presenting body management. Valid ID must be shown at the time of purchase and at the box office at the event for any discounted ticket price points, such as concession, senior or student. Sometimes events may offer a promo code for discounted pricing. Any promo codes must be stated at the time of ticket purchase.
- There is a maximum of 25 tickets per single order online, unless otherwise stated. Larger quantities may be purchased from the box office depending on the circumstances and the event.
- When purchasing tickets online a credit card fee of 2% applies per ticket.
Discount Price Tickets
Concessions, Seniors and Students: A concession priced ticket is available to the following cardholders: Centrelink concession cardholders (Healthcare and Pension), Seniors, full-time students, Veterans Affairs. All Concession/Seniors cards must be presented at the Box Office at the time of purchase and for entry to the Byron Theatre for the event.
Group Bookings: Group booking numbers will be stated for each event if available. When purchasing a group booking online, the amount of tickets selected must be equal to, or more than, the designated group price otherwise the discounted price point will not be available. If you are purchasing more than the group booking amount, the discounted price will apply for all tickets.
Family Tickets: Family tickets apply to x4 family members – generally 2 adults, 2 children. If you are purchasing more than 4 tickets, the family price will be available for 4 tickets only then an alternate option (ie child price or adult price) must be selected for the remaining tickets. If you are purchasing less than 4 tickets then the family price is not an option.
Companion Card: The Byron Theatre accepts Companion Cards for all events. Please refer to the link below for more details on Companion Cards.
Promo Codes: Occasionally an event will have 1 or more designated promo codes. These are codes that are issued by the promoting body of the event to VIPs, special guests or groups in order to purchase discounted tickets. Any promoter code discounts must be stated at the time of purchase at the box office, or entered manually online at the time of purchase. No promo code discounts will be allocated after the ticket purchase is made. The promo code discount will only appear as available if the promo code has been entered correctly.
All event performance details, venue and seating details will be printed on your ticket. Tickets are either issued from the box office or can be printed at home. Please check that all details are correct at the time of purchase and again at the time of the event.
Tickets can be purchased:
- Online up to the performance start time.
- By phone between 10.30am and 1.30pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
- At the venue between 10.30am and 1.30pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday and one hour before the performance – subject to availability.
Tickets for all events at Byron Theatre are issued as numbered seats, unless otherwise stated. Any performances that have General Admission or Retracted Seating will be clearly identified.
Entry to the Theatre
For all ticketed events, entry to the theatre is via Jonson Street. The Fletcher Street entrance is not available for entry. To enter the theatre, each patron must have their own valid Byron Theatre ticket and will need to have this ticket checked or scanned by the box office or ushers before gaining entry to the theatre. Ushers are stationed at all theatre doors to assist with correct seating. The majority of performances at Byron Theatre are allocated seating, however sometimes performances can be General Admission seating. Please check the seating allocation at the time of purchase. There are four entry doors into the theatre: Doors 1 and 2 are located on the ground floor, Doors 3 and 4 are located on the first floor. The Door entry for your performance will be printed on your ticket.
Due to the intimate nature of the theatre space most shows have a strict no latecomer policy and ticket holders may not be admitted into the theatre after the performance has commenced until there is a suitable break. Any latecomers will be advised by the Event Manager on duty when they can enter the theatre. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded due to late arrival. We recommend that you arrive at the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the performance start time. Theatre doors are generally open 30 minutes before a performance.
Ticket exchanges are available and can be exchanged up to 48 hours before an event.
All exchange requests must go through the box office: email@example.com with your confirmation order number and requested date change. Tickets can be exchanged for a different performance date/time of the same production. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer exchanges into a different event.
If you select new tickets that are more expensive than your original ones, you will be charged the difference in the ticket prices. All exchanges are subject to ticket availability.
Byron Theatre does not offer ticket refunds for change of mind or circumstance, however we understand that there can be emergencies or extreme circumstances.
If you feel that you would like to request a refund based on medical or emergency situations at the time of the ticketed performance, please email the Box Office Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org with the event title and event date for refund and your reason for refund request. Please note, you may be asked for supporting documentation, i.e. doctor or hospital certificates.
Your request will be emailed to the relevant event presenter for final approval. Byron Theatre management does not make refunding decisions.

Byron Theatre Events Bar
We enthusiastically encourage you to arrive early at the theatre to avoid the rush, so you can meet friends, socialise & have a drink at the fabulous Byron Theatre Events Bar. The Bar is open one hour before all events and during designated intervals. Don’t forget, you can take your drinks into the theatre! For more info on the Byron Theatre events bar, click here.
Byron Theatre endeavours to include accurate content warnings, however, some production content does change within the rehearsal period and we encourage you to visit our website or call the Box Office before the show opens for up-to-date warning information. Warning advice will also be placed in the theatre foyer if required.
Creative learning is vital to the school curriculum. Byron Theatre management encourages schools to attend events that might assist or benefit the annual education program creating lasting memories for students and teachers alike. Where possible discounted ticket prices can be made available to school group bookings. The theatre always has theatre programming content that is suitable for school aged-children. Any teacher resources or program notes for specific performances can be sent to teachers ahead of the event date.
Byron Community Centre is committed to being an accessible venue. Byron Theatre is wheelchair accessible for all events. There are two wheelchair seats located in the main auditorium on the ground floor: F9 & F31. There is also a lift to the first floor if required.

The Byron Theatre does not have a dedicated car park for patrons, but street parking is available. Please adhere to all parking warnings and time limits to avoid parking fees. Please ensure you allow enough time for parking before your event start time.

Children at Byron Theatre
Byron Theatre is a child-friendly venue. We love programming theatre content for families with children and running school holiday shows and workshops. However, for the safety of your child and other patrons, please ensure that children are under supervision at all times. Please note appropriate age restrictions and warnings are indicated for all events where possible.

Photography or recording of any kind is not permitted in the theatre due to privacy laws and restrictions. Please remember to turn off mobile phones or switch to silent mode when you enter the theatre.
Some events may have their own crew to film and photograph events in the theatre. These people will have designated film seats.
