Nuwanda Coleridge at Byron Theatre

“Unqualified existence, conscious as bliss, appears in the Heart and arises as love… Love is the original, creative impulse. It is the generative source and primary form of all creativity, all manifestation. The man of understanding arises as love, mad with love. He is not Narcissus. Creativity is love. The world is love.”
(Adi Da Samraj, The Knee of Listening (1972 edition) | ©ASA)

A composer and piano virtuoso of a unique and rare nature, Nuwanda Coleridge brings this warm and brilliant show to the Byron Theatre for its fourth run.

It’s easy to see why he is compared to composers like Michael Nyman and Phillip Glass, yet Nuwanda is a stand-out in his genre with his gift for improvisation and mysterious connection to the piano. He takes constant musical risks with an emphasis on playing in the moment, and being intimate with the listener, evoking a heartfelt tangible quality when he plays, something truly unique, and simply melty.

“Genius” and “Breathtakingly Beautiful” are just some of the responses.

Nuwanda brings compositions that are classically intelligent, cinematic and deeply soulful to the stage, played on the beautiful Steinway Concert Grand.

So come, be nourished and inspired by this beautiful and special night for all – A night of Piano In The Deep.
