This performance is the culmination of Public Act Theatre’s ten week course ‘Empowering women through theatre’. This is the 6th Applied Theatre course to have run over the last couple of years with a different group of women each time. The Performance element is a chance for them to brave the threshold of being in front of an audience and step into their awesome empowered creativity.
This term our theme has been an exploration of our internal characters – both as archetypes and stereotypes. What happens when we let our inner critic have a conversation with our wild warrior? What happens when Promiscuous Prudence comes up against Controlling Kate? Just how many characters do we HAVE in our closets…? Giving these characters a chance to dress up and play proves to be great material for a moving and humorous performance.
Choreographed movement, original text and music. This is raw theatre at its best!
