Daniel de Borah
The Steinway Recital
Sunday 19 July, 2 pm
Already well known in this area, pianist Daniel de Borah is a busy recitalist. A SIPCA major prize winner, he has since forged a place in the vibrant pianistic world both in Australia and internationally.
The Byron Community Centre is home to a full Concert Steinway piano, a rarity in regional areas, and this recital promises a world class performance by one of Australia’s elite pianists on an instrument that is recognised as one of the worlds finest.
As a young pianist, Daniel won major prizes in the Sydney International Piano Competition, the Tbilisi International Piano Competition and the Arthur Rubenstein in Memoriam Competition in Poland. Daniel’s performances reflect the rich influences of study at the St Petersburg State Conservatoire, the Royal Academy of Music London and the prestigious Liszt Academy in Budapest, and he is now well established and in demand as a recitalist, accompanist and also soloist with many major orchestras here and abroad.
“………Daniel de Borah, gave a masterly, brilliant and captivating performance …….. His fluid style, his amazing attention to detail, his outstanding sensitivity and, of course, his virtuosity are what make de Borah so popular on the international stage. What a treasure he is!” CityNews, Canberra International Music Festival, May 2015.
