Sea Shepherd Byron Bay brings you the longest chase in maritime history. A dramatic high seas environmental documentary about their epic 110 day, 10,000 mile chase of the notorious fishing vessel the Thunder. For over three months and across several oceans, Sea Shepherd crews stalked the fugitive fishing boat that was considered the world’s most notorious poacher.
Captains Peter and Sid trail the Thunder in an epic game of cat and mouse. The ships maneuverer through storms, giant Antarctic ice floes, face clashes between opposing crews and nearly collide in what is the swashbuckling documentary of the century, Chasing the Thunder.
Featuring a Q&A with Bia Figueiredo, deckhand on the M/Y Sam Simon which retrieved an astonishing 72km of illegal fishing gear that had been abandoned by the Thunder in the course of the pursuit.
This is a fundraising event for Sea Shepherd.
