Parissa 202ab

Multi award winning, internationally renowned songstress, from The Hottentots, PARISSA BOUAS releases her long-awaited debut solo CD ‘The Full Force of the Wind’   This CD is a beautiful blend of Billie Holiday meets Tom Waits in a Parisian nightclub, where Gypsies play songs of love and loss, with an occasional distinctly South American twist.

Her first single, ‘Sad Eyes’, won the coveted SONG OF THE YEAR and BEST JAZZ SONG categories at the 2012 Dolphin Music Awards.  In 2013 Parissa won BEST JAZZ and BEST WORLD MUSIC for  ‘The Full Force of the Wind’ and ‘Honey and Candlelight’.

PARISSA will be launching her new CD, sharing the bill with and supported on stage by the gypsy jazz sounds of ‘Feel the Manouche’ ensemble, featuring the legendary George Washingmachine on violin and voice, Arthur Washington – guitar, Clare O’Meara – accordion and vocal and Stan Valacos – double bass.

(Manouche is a term derived from the Romany gypsies of Europe, what we in Australia call gypsy jazz.)

“Parissa has a voice that would aggravate angels with it’s beauty”  Philip Adams ABC RN

CD available on:  CD Baby,  iTunes and Tradandnow.
