69 Jonson Street
Byron Bay NSW 2481
Registration closes at 6pm, Thursday 16 June
Along with our Northern Rivers neighbours, Byron Shire is currently facing one of the most acute shortages of affordable housing in Australia. The Covid-19 pandemic and recent flood events have intensified the situation even further.
Time is of the essence and collective action is required to generate tangible outcomes.
In the absence of large scale federal & state government investment in social & affordable housing, what role is there for the community housing sector, ethical developers, and local government to provide stable, affordable homes that supports the continued diversity of our community?
What examples and ideas might we look to locally, interstate and abroad to inform our approach to housing our community that is focused, sustainable and affordable?
The Byron Shire Housing Forum will focus on the community and invite people to share their ideas and local stories around key themes.
Council will meet with industry experts and decision makers after the session to reflect and capture a list of tasks and actions. This will then be reported back to the community.
Will you join the conversation?
