BballetimageThe BYRON BALLET company will be presenting an inspirational GALA that will include excerpts from the famous classics Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan lake’ and ‘Paquita’. Featuring special guests, audiences will also enjoy a feast for the eyes with the dreamy and sensual ‘Ballet Egyptienne’.
SWAN LAKE has been one of the most popular ballets of all time due to it’s intriguing story and the divine ballet score. Odile the heroine of the story is transformed into aswan by a wicked sorcerer and can only regain human form at night. The spell may be broken by the power of eternal love. When Odette falls in love with Prince Siegfried, hope for her freedom has come at last, until Siegfried is tricked into breaking his vow by the sorceress, trapping Odette as a swan forever.
Byron Ballet will be presenting the dramatic scene in Act 3 where Odette (the sorcerers daughter) tricks and seduces Pince Seigried , therefore dooming Odile to be trapped as the swan.
PAQUITA is a vibrant Spanish ballet that promises to entertain the whole family with it’s strong character style and flair. It was originally staged in Russia in 1847, and today the Paquita pieces are major cornerstones of the traditional classical ballet repertory. They have been staged by ballet companies throughout the world. Original choreography by Marius Petipa.

BALLET EGYPTIENNE was Egytpian choreographer Hassan Sheta in 1982. This ballet brings to life sacred Egytpian dance inspired from ancient Egyptian art works. Set to the delightful music of Alexandre Luigini.
