The Regional Food Network this year is hosting the 4th Annual Regional Food Cultures and Networks Conference, to be held at Byron Bay Community Centre 16-18 November. The Conference will again bring together people from industry, academia and government to explore key issues; showcase innovative thinking and demonstrate approaches to the development and sustainability of local food; and examine the cultural, economic, social and environmental implications and opportunities around local and regional food.

Keynote speakers are Nick Rose, from the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance on fair and sustainable food systems and Julian Bond, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts Vancouver on the relationship between sustainable food production and culinary training. A public session on the past and future of farming will feature Tammi Jonas, the Future Feeders and Alisdair Smithson from Munch and Crunch Organics.
