Located in the centre of Byron Bay, within easy walking distance to many accommodation, café & dining options, the Community Centre is fast becoming a popular creative & community hub.
The Cavanbah Room
On the first floor on the Community Centre, adjoining the large balcony overlooking Jonson Street, the Cavanbah Room can accommodate up to 90 people theatre style or 36 in a Boardroom set up and is ideal for meetings, conferences, classes or special events.
Facilities in the Cavanbah Room include:
- Chairs & tables that can be configured in a variety of layouts
- Wifi
- Whiteboard
- Flip Chart Board
- Data projector
- Fully air-conditioned
- PA system including microphone. (Lapel and cordless mics available upon request for a small fee.)
- Rates:- $75/hr
- $275/half day (4hrs)
- $390/full day (8hrs)

The Verandah Room
On the first floor of the Community Centre, adjoining the large balcony overlooking Jonson Street, the 40 square meter Verandah Room is ideal for meetings, conference break-out rooms, classes or special events. The room has a circular table which can seat 18 people, or the furniture can be cleared away to allow about 30-40 people standing or with lecture style seats. For entertainment functions the folding doors can be opened for direct access onto the verandah.

The Cavanbah and Verandah rooms are divided by a solid partition, which can be removed to create one large space. The rooms, hired separately or together, are perfect for

The Fletcher Street Kitchen
On the ground floor next to the Fletcher Street entrance is a kitchen area with doors that open onto the courtyard. Please note this is only suitable for small informal meetings, food preparation and cooking classes.

Byron Community Cabin
We now manage the Byron Community Cabin in Carlyle St. (previously the Girl Guides Hall).
It’s great for community events and regular meetings. It’s a local hall, 6m x 10.5m with a kitchen and a whiteboard, but no A/V, A/c or Wifi.

Catering
The Community Centre Coffee Box is open Mon-Fri 8.30am-1.30pm. Meeting room clients are entitled to 10% off all purchases.
