Following the success of our last two sellout Pursue Your Passion annual events, we are excited to bring the energy and inspiration in 2017 to the Byron Theatre, right in the heart of Byron.
This half-day event is designed to provide support, encouragement and advice to both men and women looking to pursing their passion projects, business ideas, creative callings, and career ambitions.
Lead by our incredible MC, television personality Shelley Craft, you will hear from three inspiring speakers, each well-respected in their fields, as well as enjoy live music, awesome goodness bags, and meet like-minded peeps, all in air-conditioned, seated comfort at this hugely popular forum.
MC – Shelley Craft, Television presenter
With a career spanning decades, Shelley Craft is one of Australia’s most loved television personalities. Beyond this, Shelley is a nurturing mother, passionate businesswoman and children’s entertainer. As MC of Pursue Your Passion, Shelley brings her warmth, happy disposition and positive nature to the stage to further bring the good vibes to this incredibly uplifting forum.
Victoria Aguirre, Photographer and co-founder of Pampa
Argentinian-born freelance photographer Victoria Aguirre’s stunning work is acclaimed worldwide. As one half of photography duo, Pampa, Victoria explores some of Argentina’s most remote indigenous communities, always with a camera in hand to document the journey. Diana Miller, Artist
Artist Diana Miller’s work is infused with energy and emotion. Her story is one filled with change, upheaval, unexpected twists and the highest of highs, on the path to which she turned her painting hobby into a real business. Diana currently works from her studio in Newrybar at the Newrybar Merchants in the Byron Bay Hinterland. She is represented by Art Piece Gallery in Mullumbimby, Fenton & Fenton in Melbourne, and sells her art prints and products on The Block Shop online. www.dianamiller.me
Tim Baker, Best selling author, editor
Tim Baker is an Australian journalist specialising in surf culture and the best-selling author of four books on surfing. He is a former editor of Tracks and Surfing Life magazines. He has twice won the Surfing Australia Hall of Fame Culture Award and been nominated for the CUB Australian Sports Writing Awards. He is currently a senior contributor to Surfing World, Surfer’s Path (UK), the Surfers Journal and US Surfing and Surfer magazines. He has appeared at the Sydney and Byron Bay Writers Festivals, and has conducted writing workshops at the Hunter, Sydney and the Northern Rivers Writers Centre.
Musical Performance – Just Announced!
Dynamic husband-and-wife-duo Two Lions bring their warmth and charm to the Pursue Your Passion stage this year. Chris and Kara Mallory make up Two Lions, singing intimate songs with entrancing close harmonies and folky foot-stompers.
Songwriting collaborations earned them the 2014 NCIEA Dolphin Award for “Song of the Year” and a top ten position in the AMRAP regional charts in 2015.
Chris and Kara have recently had a baby girl who has already inspired some new songs to add to their soundtrack of acoustic guitar, banjo-mandolin and ukulele.
Chris and Kara will be sharing their unique gifts with a special performance, as well as divulging insights from their own inspiring journey of pursuing their passion for music, travel and working with other inspirational musicians such as Clare Bowditch.
