Tex-mex/alt-folk rock/Americana band CALEXICO from Tucson Arizona released their ninth studio album EDGE OF THE SUN in April 2015.
The new album is the follow-up to 2012’s Algiers and features a long list of guest contributors, including Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Nick Urata (DeVotchKa), Neko Case, Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses) and Grammy-winning Mexican singer Carla Morrison. They last toured Australia and New Zealand in September 2013 which included their triumphant Sydney Opera House headline concert, Brisbane Festival, Christchurch Arts Festival, Wave Rock Weekender and other signature theatre and club dates.
Across eight studio albums, numerous collaborations, scores and soundtracks and thousands of shows Joey Burns and John Convertino and their band CALEXICO have roamed the world with their vibrant and stirring “desert noir” sound. CALEXICO make panoramic frontier music that effortlessly crosses borders, cultures and genres and have seamlessly infused the instrumentation, sounds and structures of cumbia, fado, jazz, gypsy, surf, country, spaghetti western epics and the darker side of indie rock into a deep body of work that is stirring, intoxicating and uniquely theirs.

Just announced: With special guest Archer:
In 2015, Archer is a true rarity. His weathered blues are his stories—harvested from the raw distance that passes under his heels.
Archer’s songs follow the seams of Australia’s valleys and mountain ranges, songs driven by a restless and pure geography. A craft honed under the open sky—from Murray River picking crews to the remote northern reaches of the Australian continent.
